Historic St Joseph's Catholic Church in Ft. Madison, Iowa was built with love by German immigrants in 1886. This beautiful church, which is listed on the National Historic Register, features a stone foundation and brick work with classic Gothic revival architecture. St. Joseph’s was the center of parish faith life for hundreds of families up until 2008 when it was closed down. Over the past few years the church has fallen into disrepair and neglect. Now,a dedicated group of volunteers from Saint Josephs Fund is committed to restoring the church to its former beauty and to make it a holy place of worship, faith, hope and charity once again.
